Welcome to Craft Hippie! My name is Dede and I hope you enjoy what you see and come back often to
check out the new items. For now, I will be selling mostly from Etsy as it is just easier to manage one
selling site.
I chose this name because I have always had a hidden free spirit. When I was 2 or 3 (early 60's) I would
flash the peace sign and say that when I got "old" I wanted to be a hippie. Now here I am many years later
and I HAVE ARRIVED!
I live in Dallas, TX with my life partner Leigh Ann. We have 4 dogs (Sydney, Ashleigh, Max and Brooks) and
2 cats (Sterling and Palmer). You will probably see lots of pictures of my baby Sydney (4 year old
Chocolate Brown Chihuahua) because she is truly the daughter I will never have. She is my craft
companion and is right now sleeping soundly in her "big girl" bed right beside me.
I began doing crafts as a child. I did a lot of embroidery and sewing. Years later I took up counted cross
stitch and knitting. A little over a year ago I was unexpectedly hit with a job layoff and to keep my sanity I
began with polymer clay, jewelry, knitting, glass fusing, glass etching, etc. It has been a huge leap of faith
to put myself and my work out there. But I have had fun...and as the saying goes, "Do what you love and the
money will follow."
I have also developed a service with my coaching business that involves stress relief through art. As I
found it kept my sanity thru the job hunting months personally.
